Author Info

Brian Hall, author of Not Afraid to Fall has lived the majority of his life with debilitating symptoms from Parkinson's disease. (47 years as of 2023.) He believes his health journey has given him a unique perspective on how to maintain a positive mental outlook, and attitude. This path awoke Brian's spirit, and has ultimately helped him to find balance in his life, living with this unforgiving disorder.

Brian underwent brain surgery "DBS," (Deep Brain Stimulation) in 2007 to try and abate his symptoms. Thankfully, the operation was a huge success. Soon after, Brian became an active member of the Medtronic Ambassador Program. He offers other potential DBS patients insight into his own experience with DBS, medical background, history, and direction with the disease. He hopes by sharing this information with others, it will help to guide them in the healthiest direction possible. (Medtronic is a leading manufacturer of pacemaker technologies including all the components necessary for DBS.)

Today, Brian continues to be an active participant in his rural community in New England. Mountain biking, ocean swimming, road cycling, sailing, working at a public golf course, and experiencing life's joys with the love of his life Karen, by his side. He also travels around the country as a motivational speaker, sharing his story of hope with others.
