Brian Hall, author of Not Afraid to Fall, has lived with the debilitating symptoms of Parkinson’s disease for over 47 years (as of 2023). His journey with this challenging condition has given him a unique perspective on maintaining a positive mental outlook and resilience in the face of adversity. Through his experiences, Brian has found balance and inner strength, awakening his spirit as he navigates life with this unforgiving disorder.
In 2007, Brian underwent Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgery in an effort to alleviate his symptoms. The procedure proved to be a turning point, significantly improving his quality of life. Following his successful surgery, Brian became an active member of the Medtronic Ambassador Program, where he shares his personal experience with DBS, offering insight into the procedure, its potential benefits, and how it has shaped his journey with Parkinson’s. Today, Brian remains deeply engaged in his rural New England community.
