Wendy Johnson was born in Syracuse, NY and graduated from SUNY Cobleskill with an Associates Degree in Early Childhood, and received a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from SUNY Oneonta. After college, Wendy worked with special needs children in an inclusion classroom prior to becoming an IT Recruiter and eventually starting her own recruitment firm. In 2019, she left the business World to start her own dog rescue and become a foster Mom to children.
Wendy is the President and Founder of Touch of Grey Rescue, a senior and special needs dog rescue with a mission to provide foster care, re-homing assistance and hospice care to dogs residing in shelters. Her combined passion for dogs, children, and books, led her to create the Farkle and Friends book series based on real life dogs from Touch of Grey Rescue. Farkle Finds His Furever Home is Wendy's first publication and the first book in the series. Wendy also wrote Twas the Night Before Pawmas, due to be released in Fall of 2023 and is currently writing Tucker and the Rainbow Bridge. She has committed to donating a large portion of proceeds from every book sale back to Touch of Grey Rescue so they can save more senior and special needs dogs like Farkle. Wendy and her husband Pete live in Melbourne Beach, FL with their two teenage daughters Faith and Jenny, their two rescue dogs Farkle and Kiara, and a rescue cat named Dude.
