Author Info

DeAnn Carpenter writes, teaches, and serves because she’s passionate about supporting and celebrating others. Together she and her husband, Brian Carpenter, founded and direct the nonprofit, Refuge Foundation. (See https://Refuge.Rest.) They reside in Montana with their two kids, Asher and Ruby. There they train and develop staff to care for, serve, and support leaders.

Refuge is currently in multiple locations in the American West, bringing reprieve and rest to leaders from all over the world. DeAnn helps with staff development and directs the Refuge W.I.L.D. experience (see http://RefugeWild.org), which guides women toward deeper living with God and with one another.

DeAnn grew up in the Great Plains of North Dakota before moving to Montana. In Montana she attended the Yellowstone Valley Bible Institute, where she worked on staff serving youth, young adults, and women’s ministries. She has flipped many houses, worked in the salon industry, taught at women’s conferences, and will always be “in the business of transformation.”

She spends her free time running around with her kids, sipping coffee, reading books, hanging with her girlfriends, and eating Thai food with her family.
