Charlotte Satcher-Walker is
from Southwest Louisiana. She is reared
from humble beginnings which she believes is why she views humility and
humanity an important part of her life.
She watched her dad help people who were stranded on the highways, take
strangers in and feed them and sometimes allow them to stay until they were well
able to move forward in their lives.
Many times her mother didn’t agree with this, but her dad would always
say he just had a feeling that these were good people he would be helping out
and everything would be just fine.
Charlotte grew up in the
church working in different capacities in her youth and adolescent years. Some of those are youth secretary, Sunday
School secretary, Jr. Choir Director, Assistant Sunday school teacher among
participation in other auxiliaries in her church on different committees in her
community. One of her favorites she
remembers being a part of as a youth is the infamous DeRidder Community
Choir. She still works faithfully in her
church as the Sr./Mass Choir director and serves as a deaconess. She often finds herself telling of God’s love
in her travels to people she comes in contact with.
She is considered a
motivational and spiritual speaker. She
works in her community on an educational level to change behaviors through the
parish schools, faith-based and professional levels with youth and families to
combat underage drinking and prescription and other illicit drug abuse.
Charlotte obtained her elementary and high school
education in the Beauregard Parish School System. She received her associates, bachelors, and master
degrees from Kaplan Online University.
She has begun working to continue her education in obtaining her PhD in
Criminal Justice where she’s received 42 doctoral level credits.
Charlotte has held
several capacities but says the one that shaped her was the decision to begin
working in the private prison system. She used her years of working in the prison
system to let those know who were incarcerated that there is hope in Christ
when they didn’t believe there was any hope, but at the same time she enforced
and followed the rules and regulations as that was what you are supposed to do
in the criminal justice field. She has
worked as a Mental Health Specialist/Professional, and a substitute school
teacher. She believes she was destined
to be in positions to help people from all walks of life, no matter their age.
Charlotte’s ultimate goal as she states is to ‘simply
be a light that others can see Christ in her, and be a voice of sharing that
everyone can know that God is who He says He is and no matter what situation
someone is going through; change will come if you only believe in God first,
and in yourself. Love God and love who
YOU ARE IN HIM!
