I’m Charlie Gilbert, the “SAVI Savant,” creator of The SAVI System of Singing-Acting. For nearly forty years, I’ve been training young artists for work in the professional musical theater and creating provocative original work for the musical stage. A Professor of Theater Arts at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, I headed their Musical Theater Program from its inception in 1990 until 2008 and served from 2008 to 2013 as Director of the Ira Brind School of Theater Arts. I’m a founding member and a Past President of the Musical Theater Educators Alliance, an international organization of musical theater training programs all over the world, and I’ve taught workshops and master classes in America, the UK, Europe and Australia. I’m a professional director and award-winning musical director and I’ve written and composed nearly a dozen musical theater works.
