Dr. Bruce Brodie is a retired clinical professor of medicine at the University of North Carolina teaching service in Greensboro North Carolina. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University and his MD degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He practiced interventional cardiology with Cone Health in Greensboro, North Carolina, and was cofounder and chairman of the LeBauer-Brodie Center for Cardiovascular Research and Education.
Over decades of medical practice, Dr. Brodie cared for aging patients confronting heart disease and other multiple chronic illnesses that so often accompany later life. Those experiences helped shape the questions at the heart of Our Aging Cells: Why do we age, why do age-related diseases so often occur together, and could understanding aging at the cellular level lead to longer, healthier lives?
