Author Info

During his 40+ years in the industry, Frank has spent time as an auto mechanic, service advisor, service manager, shop owner, salesperson, software designer, Chief Technology Officer, senior executive, three-time entrepreneur, author, educator, industry volunteer and disrupter!

Frank has been disrupting the auto aftermarket since the mid ‘80s. His first disruptive effort was in the mid 1980’s when he raised $100,000 from an angel investor to develop a software application for the automotive aftermarket. It was one of the first software applications of its kind that helped automotive aftermarket companies manage their business using computer software.

In the early 1990s Frank continued his disruptive ways by designing and developing new software applications for the collision and property and casualty industries. These new software applications changed the way estimates were created, documented, shared, and invoiced and the way businesses managed the repair process.

In the mid-90s Frank and his team took a failing software application, redesigned it, and helped make it the #1 software application in the collision repair market. Then came the internet revolution of the late 90s where everyone thought the internet would change the world overnight.

From 1999 – 2001, Frank helped raise tens of millions of dollars from the Sand Hill Road crowd in Silicon Valley to design and develop one of the automotive industry’s first online parts procurement platform. After finding that online parts procurement for the collision industry was way ahead of its time in 2001, Frank launched his second and third companies, and for the next 16 years designed and developed software that once again changed the way automotive businesses marketed, managed, and operated their businesses!

After selling his software and companies at the end of 2016, Frank joined asTech® in early 2017 where he helped launch another industry disrupter. During his time at asTech®, Frank helped the company grow from 90 people to more than 700 and increase revenue by 10X.

He also helped design and develop asTech’s U.S. and European online operating system and mobile apps that powered their patented internet-based remote diagnostic process, glass, and ADAS calibration processes, and the company’s on-site mobile electronics service and repair processes.

Today Frank, in addition to writing this book, is attempting to create another industry disrupter with a new mobile app and SaaS platform for auto collision, mechanical, and truck repair businesses. He also created www.auto-disruption.com to provide the automotive industry and auto-disruption members with the latest information, knowledge and training on new technologies, business models, companies, and individuals disrupting the automotive industry.
