"Write a story," her students begged. "Set it in our favorite place." So, upon retirement, Anna Massengill wrote Storm Over Guantanamo. As her characters assumed a life of their own, she chronicled their world wide adventures in Dominos of Deception, Menage of Tricks, and Kaleidoscope of Disguises.

In the fourth grade, the adventures of an orphan boy who sailed the seas on a tramp steamer captivated her imagination. Many years later, her chance to see the world came with an unexpected job offer, teacher in the Department of Defense Overseas Schools.

Her assignments took her to Central America, Cuba, England, South Korea, and Japan. These locations provide the backdrop of her mystery stories featuring the Wilkie Collins gang who share her interest in history, psychology, and the performing arts.
