Ama Darkwa is a Ghanaian American who loves the art of storytelling. Since age 9, Ama was known to make up stories on the spot. Ama would share her made-believe stories with her cousins. She became intrigued by her engaged listeners. Ama's dream is to create more stories to capture the minds of her readers! Ama's first children's book, Nakia's Wish, was inspired by her daughter. Ama hopes to write more children's books that will bridge the gap between parents and children. She hopes to create a healthy dialogue between parents and kids on some of the tough topics in life. In her spare time, Ama enjoys spending time with her daughter, traveling, painting, reading, writing, and doing outdoor activities.
