Albert Morrow is a freelance writer with feature stories and articles in the newspapers of Rust Media and the magazines of Best Version Media. In 2023, he received an Honorable Mention in the L. Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future Contest for his novella “Widow’s Lament.” His stories, “The Cursed Cabin of Cat’s Holler” and “Miswritings in the Dark,” have won awards in the White County Creative Writers Conferences held in Searcy, Arkansas. In 2025, his story “A Trail’s End Revelation” won an Honorable Mention in the 94th Annual Writers Digest Story Competition. The debut of his paranormal western hero, Dix Dereuse, was released in 2025.
His interest in the American Frontier grew from childhood viewings of shows like Rawhide and Wanted: Dead or Alive to a lifelong study of nineteenth century America during the westward expansion. Morrow, a Marine Corps veteran and world history teacher, lives in an historic Missouri river town with four rescue cats who don’t get along.
