At the age of 18, aspiring poet Abi Lynn published “Embers of Anxiety: A Poetry Collection” as her capstone project during her senior year of high school. This was accomplished with the help and support of her high school English teacher, Traci Johnson.

Abi grew up in a small town in Knox County, Illinois with loving parents Ted and Jennifer, and was the middle child between two siblings, older brother Wyatt, and little sister Annalyn. In May 2025, Wyatt got married to his wife Bailey.

After graduating from ROWVA High School in 2022, Abi attended Drake University. After some changes in her major and deciding what was best for her, Abi finished out her degree online with Drake, graduating with a BAJMC in Digital Communications in 2025.

Abi now resides in Geneseo, Illinois with her boyfriend Wiley and their two cats, Frey and Topher.

Abi works for a local news station called KWQC-TV6 in Davenport, Iowa as a Digital Content Producer and Weekend News Producer.

“Embers will always have a special place in my heart. It was written as something that was meant to be timeless for whoever comes upon it, but for me to leave behind as I’ve grown from the woman who wrote it. I’m grateful for her because she shaped me into who I am now.” -Abi Lynn
