Drama Dona born and raised in Philly, PA now resides in a 100 year old cottage once owned by her maternal Grandmom then Aunt in Mount Vernon, NY a Westchester suburb 12 miles north of midtown NYC. She got there via Harlem, Roxborough, PA, Hollywood, CA, upper west & east side Manhattan, Milan, Italy, Center City Phila all beginning in West Oak Lane area of Philadelphia, PA.
Dona Elena Hatcher attended the historic Philadelphia High School for Girls, then Millersville State University in Lancaster, PA where she began modeling and continued writing free verse poetry as a hobby. Modeling and Acting became a professional career even now while Poetry became a profession. Dona's poetry has been published in anthologies, magazines and newspapers. She has performed poetry on both coasts and created the multi-poet piece, "Why We Write", taught creative writing workshops to both children and seniors.
A true bionic woman, Dona miraculously survived and astoundingly bounced back from an Aortic Aneurysm, Heart Valve transplant, Bypass Surgery, Heart Failure, Endocarditis, Red-man's Syndrome and AFIB all from 2017 - 2019! She compiled and produced Word Dances, Poems On Pointe! while recuperating.
