About the Author

Author Info

Jeffery Allen Boyd is the author of two novels, ‘Wolf Head’s Bay-The Journey Home’, and the exciting two-part novel ‘Wolf Head’s Bay-Journey of the Courageous Eleven’, both of which are fast-paced, dramatic stories.

The 'Wolf's Head Bay' novels, written for both a young adult and adult audience, follow the adventures of eighteen-year-old Jeremy Hodak and his nine-year-old brothers, identical twins Travis & Matthew, living in northern Michigan.

Boyd had a desire to be a filmmaker. Before entering the 10th grade, he purchased his first super 8 movie camera. But rather than point and shoot randomly, he began to tell ‘stories’ through his home movies, often giving his parents and other family members ‘direction’. Today his storytelling is through his action/adventure books as in his first novel, ‘Wolf’s Head Bay-The Journey Home’. “I love action/adventure books and movies. But more than that, I love storylines about ordinary people suddenly thrust into extraordinarily perilous and realistic situations. And that’s what I feel compelled to write about.”

Boyd’s second novel, ‘Journey of the Courageous Eleven’ is based in part on the Franklin Credit Union scandal from the mid 1980's, involving an embezzlement scheme that had connections to child trafficking and missing children—issues of today that haunt our human society.

Wolf’s Head Bay was a winner in the 2020 Readers’ Favorite 12th annual International Book Award Contest—held in conjunction with the 37th Annual Miami Book Fair International, in Miami, Florida, November 2021. ‘Journey of the Courageous Eleven’ won the Silver Medal in the Young Adult-Action genre while ‘The Race for Home’, won the Bronze Medal in the Fiction-Thriller-Conspiracy genre.

Boyd writes for personal enjoyment. Because he cares about the characters and what happens to them, his stories are very exciting. Growing up in Northern Michigan in the 1970's—the era of the 'disaster movies'—he was inspired by two influential writers. Irwin Allen, the Master of Disaster & adventure novelist Clive Cussler. In addition, with his aviation background, helicopters abound in his latest two-volume action/adventure thriller. Therefore, he incorporated all of those aspects into his storylines with plenty of action and suspense throughout. So, sit back, buckle up, or hunker down in your favorite reading space, and hold on for a blockbuster of an adventure in, “Wolf’s Head Bay-Journey of the Courageous Eleven”, concluding in, “The Race for Home”. You will not be disappointed!

Boyd divides his time between Traverse City, Michigan and Islamorada, Florida with his partner and their cat, Simon, pursuing his passion for writing.
