A product of rural Georgia Wm. Hovey Smith grew up with a love of all things outdoors. He became a Professional Geologist and did mineral exploration all over North America after receiving degrees from The University of Georgia and the University of Alaska. His early interest in outdoor writing led to his publication of his first outdoor stories in the late 1960s, later magazine articles, and ultimately he became the Corresponding Editor for Black Powder guns and hunting with The Gun Digest Annual, a position which he held for ten years. Along with his writings he also became a podcast radio host and produced more than 800 YouTube videos. In 2019 we wrote his first novel, Father of the Grooms, following five years of development and a fact-finding trip to Sicily. This novel will be used as a basis from which to write a screenplay and ultimately perhaps produce a movie starting in 2024.
