Dr. Meisel wrote a technical book on
computer pattern recognition as a professor of Electrical Engineering and
Computer Science at USC. He managed the computer science division of a defense
company for a decade, founded and ran a venture-capital-backed
company that developed computer speech recognition, and
published an industry newsletter. Currently, Meisel addresses
trends in areas of AI as an independent industry analyst and conference organizer
