Hello, I'm Cengiz and I was born in Tepebasi Istanbul. The area where I was born was filled with joy and happiness. There was a park in front of three casinos with music halls where the most popular actors performed at that time. The view of the Golden Horn from behind the park was just breathtaking. As a child, we used to walk to the park with my mother two or three times a week, and while she talked with the neighbors, we played with our friends.
My father was a top chef at the Hilton Hotel, and he would often join us in the park after work. Our neighborhood was a diverse mix of cultures and religions, and everyone respected each other. However, things changed when part of the park was taken away and the road was widened. Everyone started to move out of the area, and we moved to a growing area called "houses with gardens." One of our neighbors, who was the account director for Altinyildiz, the biggest and most expensive fabric maker in Turkey, asked my father to join a project to build luxury apartments with elevators and the like. The apartment is called Altinyildiz, which means golden star. However, the atmosphere was totally different from what we were used to when we moved to Merter two years later.
There were a large number of practicing Muslims in the area, and my mind began to wonder about the differences between different religions. This wondering led me to write about it in my book called "Understanding Is The Solution," which I wrote just to talk with myself and face myself. The more I wrote, the more I realized that I was the only one who understood my philosophy. I was in a difficult position and felt alone, so I decided to share it with others remain true to myself, and be an example to others.
I realized that some things I say in my book are like those of prophets, but I am not; I am just like you. The prophets of history were just like us, and they also understood many things. So they wrote about what they thought, and after they passed away, religion was created based on their words.
The God we worship does not need religion. Religion is a headache for god, so why should he need it?
For us to communicate together about understanding, we have created a platform called "Understanding Is The Solution." Let's talk and be ourselves and make the world a happier place together. Understanding is the only solution to a better life.
The more people realize what we are talking about, the better our lives will be.
