About the Author

Tom Cohen was a journalist for 20 years with the Associated Press in St. Louis, New York, Johannesburg, Warsaw, and Toronto. He also worked for CNN, Conservation International, and the World Bank Group. He is retired and lives in Simon's Town, South Africa, with his wife, Lesley Wroughton, and trusty companion Meeka the Mighty, first of her name, protector of the realm, and hunter of lizards.
