Susan Hillstrand has been many things: tech support specialist, teacher, baker, cook, manager, graduate student, mother, and survivor.
She has spent much of her life rebuilding—sometimes careers, sometimes circumstances, and sometimes herself.
Her debut novel, Crossroads of Midnight, combines recurring dream imagery with themes of motherhood, trauma, mental illness, endurance, and hope. While the story is fiction, its emotional truths were forged through years of lived experience.
When she’s not writing, Susan can usually be found studying, reading, working, or convincing herself that buying one more book is a perfectly reasonable decision.
She lives in Wyoming with her family.
