Stan
Bain was born and raised in Kalispell, Montana, and attended Northern Montana
College before being drafted into the army. Stan served in Vietnam from June 5, 1967, to July 7, 1968--a total of 13 months. While serving in the Mekong Delta he discovered an orphanage in My Tho, Vietnam. Stan's first book, "You Are Never Alone" describes his Vietnam experience and his connection to that orphanage. His second book, "Return to Vietnam--The Memories" describes his return to My tho, his efforts to find the orphanage, and the unexpected discoveries that resulted. He third book, "Being Santa--Santa's Secrets, this book is a story of his experience of doing Santa for 15 years, including the story's of kids, their wishes, concerns and their interest on who is Santa. Stan never fathered children due to a decision he made in Vietnam--a decision he has come to regret. Being Santa has helped to fill that void. Stan now semi-retired and lives in Florida, he holds a Private Multi-Engine Pilot’s License, Class D Skydiver’s License, Senior
Parachute Rigger’s License, and Master Scuba Diver Certification.
