Seraphim Penumbra is an intersex, transgender, performance and installation artist, curator, and NYC nightlife luminary-in-exile. They have performed in NYC at venues including the Roxy, the Knitting Factory, in Jackie Factory's legendary Night of 1000 Stevies, Crobar, Cabaret Magique, Plaid, Luxx, ToyBox, BB King’s, BoysRoom, and Joe’s Pub. While in New York they worked as a production assistant and art director for the Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black.

Seraphim has received notable mention in Next Magazine, HX Magazine, Time Out, New York, and Paper Magazine, and made appearances at the opening of the Chelsea Museum of Sex, at the Tribeca Film Festival, The West Village Halloween Parade, in promotion for The Legend of Leigh Bowery, at the opening night cast party of Taboo, and in the films Shortbus, and The Flaming Creatures Sequel.

They wrote and toured “Otherwise,” a cabaret show featuring shadowy renditions of carefully curated obscure little ditties and frank discussions about living as an intersex person in the queer community.

Seraphim has recently completed a B.S. in Computer Animation and they are currently producing a series of short-format animated features, as well as the cyber café and podcast, Café Penumbra
