Rose Marie Werner is an independent researcher of 20th century quilt patterns, particularly those sold as quilt kits. She has spent twelve years searching out the catalogs and advertisements for these kits, documenting them on her website, www.quiltkitid.com, and researching the designers and companies that produced them. She is a quilter herself, preferring to hand quilt the quilts she makes. The quilts in her extensive collection of quilts made from kits are the illustrations in Quilt Kits: 20th Century Short Cuts. She has also authored State Bird and State Flower Quilts; An Identification Guide.
