Ronnie Pastecki is a native New Yorker with Southern roots. Currently living in Saratoga Springs, NY, she spent twenty-six years as an educator in Albany. In retirement, Ronnie discovered a flair for creative writing and received multiple awards from the NC Senior Games Literary Arts Competitions. Her frequent contributions to the Cape Fear Voices newspaper in Leland, NC, prompted her to write her debut novel.
Writing Whipponock Creek forced her to confront the same issues as the protagonist---family, loyalty, slavery, and patriotism. She has portrayed these concerns to reflect the times and the beliefs that she holds dear.
