Rey G is a 4th generation North Denver, Colorado resident that is currently a community engagement and outreach consultant working in active collective trauma that focuses on under resourced neighborhoods within the Denver metro area, but looks to expand his work throughout the country. Originally he became an author as a form of therapy to identify and address the ways trauma has contributed to his decisions and lifestyle. As he shared his story with others he found his writing to be well received with the potential in being a helpful tool in the field of healing active collective trauma in the understanding of others with similar life experiences. "Born Savage: The tale of the Fatkat" is the first book in a series of three that are based on the author's life in overcoming generational traumas and the path toward healing and where he is today. Along with his community work he is also a an artist that produces paintings, sculptures, masks, digital designs, and music. Much of his art stems from dealing with PTSD and maintaining a healthy connection to providing others with alternative education in trauma-informed practices, restorative justice, and internal healing. Despite having several life changing experiences in his child to young adulthood, he is determined to continue showing others, especially young people how to grow and harness resilience to thrive rather than survive.
