The author was a professor of theoretical astrophysics at Case Western Reserve University in his first professional career. He then became a practicing eye physician and surgeon (ophthalmologist); he is an active student and analyst of the Torah. He is married to the love of his life, with whom he has been together for over 57 years; they are parents of four and grandparents of six. The author is a retired tennis and squash player who enjoys watching all sports and occasionally plays a game of chess, albeit not very well.
