Diane was born in Mississippi and grew up in the Air Force, living 4 years in Africa. She taught in the public schools in Westchester, Illinois, and Oak Brook, Illinois for 35 years. Diane retired to Asheville, North Carolina in 2005. She moved to Durham, North Carolina in 2017. Diane now lives with her son, Jonathan - an electrical engineer for Wolfspeed - and her dog, Mindy, in Durham, North Carolina.
