Hello, my name is Nakkia Sly. I am an introverted lover of love, novels,
poems, words, music, visual art, and knowledge; even sounds of nature, instruments,
sweet fragrances and memories. I have
been creating many forms of art for as long as I can recall. This project is my
first published piece after years of striving to produce a piece of work that
is true to ALL of me. The Artist in Me is the first in a series of
creative journals that will help navigate your child through their creative journey
of life.
I was inspired to create The Artist in Me after years
of tracking one of my niece’s artistic progression. I would allow her to draw
in my personal journal and I would date them, then show her every few years.
She would be so excited to see how she had improved over the years. The Artist
in Me is designed to not only track progression but also ignite your child’s
creative flame.
It is my desire as an artist to encourage other artist no
matter their area of creativity. May your child be inspired enough to one day inspire
