In 2000, Michael Van Hecke and Horace Bush, MSW formed Amplified Prayer Therapy -- the first hands-on healing modality to incorporate forgiveness. Van Hecke has practiced and taught APT, The Jesus Healing System (JHS) as well as Usui, Karuna, Lightarian and other forms of Reiki. He has continued learning hands-on healing from The Order of St. Luke and Christian Healing Ministries and has also taken classes in Blessing, Gratitude, Inclusion, and Men’s Christian Leadership. What distinguishes him from many other Reiki practitioners/teachers is active participation at Davidson United Methodist Church (NC) including Sunday School, past service on Habitat for Humanity sites, and mission trips to eastern NC, Moss Point, MS (Katrina), Nashville, TN and Puerto Rico. He has taken most of the Disciple classes and participated in Alpha and The Walk to Emmaus. In 2021, Van Hecke started The Forgiveness Writing Group ministry to enhance the perception and practice of forgiveness by writing and reading about forgiveness experiences.
