A wearer of many hats from advocacy to entertainment, “Canada’s first trans woman stand-up comedian” Mandy Goodhandy has been reconnecting with her musical roots to launch an exciting debut recording, “Just Call Me Lady.” The recording features a collection of songs significant to her life experiences, from “Secret Love” and “Why Don’t You Do Right” to “Unchained Melody” and “I Believe.” Produced by Anthony Panacci at TaxAhead Studio, who also plays piano and accordion, the album also features some of Canada’s finest jazz musicians: Mike Downes on bass, Larnell Lewis on drums, Kelly Jefferson on tenor saxophone and Michael Occhipinti on guitar.
