Having been a science writer for more than 40 years, there are few areas of research I haven’t covered. I’ve dined with Stephen Hawking, drank with Roger Penrose, argued with Steve Chu, escorted George Smoot the morning he won his Nobel Prize and hugged Saul Perlmutter the night he won his. As a writer at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory from 1984 to 2016, I learned from some of the finest scientific minds this nation ever produced, including Glenn Seaborg, Owen Chamberlain, Melvin Calvin and Luis Alvarez. My wife, Martha, and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area where I continue to write about science. My blog can be viewed at http://www.lynnyarris.com/
