Lily Howard wrote Lily’s Love: A Sibling’s Guide to Seizures for two deeply personal reasons. First, she wanted to create the kind of resource she wished had existed when she was younger—a simple, honest guide to help siblings understand seizures and the feelings that come with them. Second, she wanted to bring a sense of closure to her own childhood shaped by medical needs, honoring her sister Harper’s memory while preparing to step forward into the next chapter of her life.

Now a teenager preparing for college, Lily is full of curiosity and ambition. She is an advanced scuba diver with multiple specialties, a student pilot already logging flight hours, and a passionate learner with her sights set on studying astronomy and finance. She approaches life with the same determination and heart that inspired her to write this book—embracing challenge, pursuing adventure, and cherishing the lessons her family’s journey has given her.

While Lily does not see writing as her lifelong path, she believes this book serves an important purpose: to help families, siblings, and even children of parents or grandparents with seizures feel less alone. She knows how overwhelming it can be to love someone who experiences seizures, and she hopes her words will offer both reassurance and strength.

For Lily, Lily’s Love is both a gift to others and a marker of transition. It honors her past, provides hope for families in the present, and allows her to step confidently into the future—pursuing dreams of her own while carrying Harper’s memory with her always.

Lily lives in North Texas with her family. She looks forward to college, new adventures, and continuing to explore the world with the same curiosity and courage that shaped her childhood.
