Author Info

Leslie loves painting with words, and through her poetry, she hopes to touch hearts in a meaningful way.

Writing poetry helps her to express herself in ways that everyday speech cannot capture, allowing her to create relatable poems that leave readers with a sense of well-being and understanding. While she realizes that poetry isn’t for everyone, she views writing as a gift and finds happiness in quiet moments reflecting on the things that move her heart. She enjoys reading her poems to small audiences at open mic and spoken word events in her city, especially at her favorite local bookstore.

A hairstylist by trade, she is also a regular community volunteer, helping others through Bible education efforts and providing humanitarian aid. Leslie lives a quiet, simple life in Colorado Springs with her husband, Stephen, and their two sons, James and Zach. They love all the wonderful animals that visit them, like the deer, the owls, and the bunnies. If you can’t find them at home, you will find them in the mountains, where the wildflowers grow.

Leslie has been writing as far back as she can remember, making it a part of her daily life. When she was a little girl, her dad gave her what turned out to be the best black-ink pen she has ever owned, and it was put to good use. Storytelling through poetry is something she plans to continue doing for many more years to come. She hopes you find the new edition of her book, Dandelions on a Hillside, to be enjoyable and that the melody in her poems brings a song to your heart!
