Laurie K. Ward is the author of The Tree of Life: The Complete Trilogy, a dystopian science fiction story blending suspense, horror, and questions about what makes us human. Her first book began with a dream that became a story she couldn’t leave unwritten.
A former English and creative writing teacher, Laurie now develops curriculum through her educational business, The Quiet Hare. Years of helping students discover their voices strengthened her own love of storytelling. Her fiction explores human nature, the struggle for control, and the choices people make when safety and freedom collide.
When she isn’t writing, Laurie enjoys horror movies, hiking, and coloring. She welcomes opportunities to speak with students and readers about the writing process, finding ideas, and bringing stories to life.
