My mom is Korean and my dad is Caucasian which makes for a wonderfully mixed family. I grew up in Rhode Island and have been drawing and painting since I was a kid. Received my BS in Graphic Design at UH and taught it at a Kailua High School for a year, then we had to move. I had my two sons between Guam and Washington. We came back to Hawaii in 2010 and I started painting again as a paint party instructor with Mai Tais and Monet. Marrying into the Navy has fulfilled so many travel experiences and now we have planted retirement roots in Hawaii with our two sons, Labrador, Pug and my parents have moved out here too. With the military lifestyle and having children, I had to put a lot of things on hold for a long time. Now in her 7th chapter of life, I'm back to my art and would like to share my writing and illustration with the world in stories about a modern Korean-American lifestyle through the eyes of a little girl named Seoul. I'd like to participate in filling the GAP in Asian-American Literature in children's books. There was nothing I could truly relate to as a child and again when I had children, I was unable to finds books they could identify with as well. Hopefully you enjoy my book and please leave a review. I appreciate your appreciation for my work. Thank You!
