Kenny G. Down's previous books include Awakened Giant, Sleeping Spirit, The Care and Keeping of a Shan, The Mirror, the Window, and the Wall: The Life-Changing Power of Finding Your True Self, and Darko: The Sacred Heart of One Johanee Darko. A tireless advocate for hook-and-line fishing and the crab fishing fleet, Kenny worked in the commercial fishing industry his entire career, from being promoted to chief engineer at the age of twenty-three to becoming President and CEO of Blue North Fisheries, a sustainable boat and fishing company that took pride in its ethical and sustainable practices. In 2015, Washington Governor Jay Inslee appointed Kenny to serve on the North Pacific Fishery Management Council, a position he held with high honor for nine years until he passed on in 2024. At the time of his physical death, Kenny was revising Bering Sea Messiah, and one of his final requests was to make sure the book was brought into the world so that others could receive its message of love and kindness towards all.
