Kelsey Takahashi was adopted at birth and has an open adoption. She's had a relationship with her birthmom since adoption, and recently reconnected with her birthdad in her early 20s. Takahashi wants to open dialogue between adopted children and their adoptive families. She hopes her book will normalize the curiosity of the adoptee and create deeper relationships.
Takahashi is a teacher in California and earned her master's degree at University of California, Irvine. Grace Ji is a freelance illustrator based in Canada.
