Author Info

Joelle Speranza is an author, book publicist, and blogger who aims to empower girls of all ages and life stages.

Her first book, Trash the Dress: Stories of Celebrating Divorce in your 20s, has been featured in Huffington Post, Glamour UK, Yahoo! Health, Cosmo Middle East, SheKnows, International Business Times, The Globe and Mail, and more. It was inspired by her life and features interviews with 70 young divorced women worldwide.

Today, Joelle is married to Frank and cherishes being mommy to their daughter, Genevieve, and son, Luca. She enjoys working from their little red cottage in New Jersey. Genevieve and Luca always knock on the door of Joelle’s office asking for hugs and she gives in every time. Gracey and Lulu, the family’s two rescued shelter dogs, complete the #speranzasquad.

Joelle first began writing stories on a typewriter when she was a child and since becoming a mom, has dreamed of publishing a children’s book. She was inspired to write Princess Genevieve: The Hero with Girl Power as she planned her daughter’s princess-themed 5th birthday party because every princess needs her own story!

Inspired by Princess Genevieve, Joelle formed a Hero with Girl Power movement, girls of all ages and life stages answer this question: "What does girl power mean to you?" You'll see responses from best-selling authors, reality TV stars, TV show producers...and five-year-old girls!

A goal-getting creative, Joelle has been self-publishing and producing since college, when she launched her own music ‘zine-turned-website and Internet TV show before it was cool for everyone to have one. She views everything in life as a potential article, photo, or TV segment and is always thinking of ways to inspire others and spread positivity through her work.
