About the Author

Janelle Allen is an independent writer and illustrator of her first picture book, BAD KIDS DON’T GET COAL. Inspired by her two boys, this is a creative take on the age old tale that bad kids get a bag of black, lumpy disappointment under the tree. Using humor and colorful imagery, this laugh out loud story leads you into the heartfelt notion that there aren’t any “Bad Kids,” they just need a little guidance. A little, “Kole for the Soul.”
