Gerald W. Mead is a retired Marketing/Sales Professional with an
interest in History in general and American Western migration history
in particular. He has been a devotee of Genealogy since his teenage
years when his Grandmother’s bible sparked that interest. Sixty
years of searches of graveyards and court houses have accumulated a
room full of records, photos, related books, and histories.
He is a proud member
of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), and enjoys the
fellowship of others interested in the history and origins of the
founding documents of our great nation.
An early adapter of
computerized genealogy and new techniques in records search, and DNA.
His work as an avocational archaeologist has made Genealogy seem
like another branch of that science. The use of DNA in Genealogy
will grow, and as the public learns more about how to use it, will
become a primary tool.
Now his focus is to
leave as many of the stories of his family as possible in an easy to
access form for the generations to come. And to foster a renewed
interest in what our ancestors did, and when, regardless of good or
bad. In a time when young people are needing to know the truth about
this Country and how it came about.
