Fred Wiesen is a graduate of Southwestern Baptist
Theological Seminary. He pastored for
more than 50 years throughout Texas, with his longest ministry being 32 years
at North Oaks Baptist Church, a congregation he planted in the Houston
area. His teaching has always been
expository, drawing others deeper into God’s word and closer to the Word’s
Writer.
Fred and his wife, Carolyn, live in a country home in East
Texas about 25 miles from Tyler. The
father of three and grandfather of 12, he has never retired―just
moved his focus from church pastoring to writing and woodworking. He creates beautiful hardwood tables, cutting
boards, and lazy Janes (there are no lazy Susan’s in the family!). Proceeds are given to mission efforts
supported by the Wiesens.
A founding member of Texas Baptist Men 50 years ago and
former TBM board member, Fred still actively supports the TBM worldwide water
purification efforts and Disaster Relief ministries. Support for church building in undeveloped
nations and on-line Bible studies through Servants of Christ, International are
also mission passions. Jesus in His Glory is now a required
course in the curriculum of Lucent Institute, online Bible school.
