Dr. Paul Falkowski is an advocate for expanding the role of volunteers in long-term care settings. Using state-of-the-art training techniques, Dr. Falkowski has trained and placed hundreds of volunteers in nursing homes—and now makes that training accessible online to a global audience.
He has a passion for life and living and values owning our responsibility to others and having the courage to do the right thing. His vision for discovering volunteers as a work-ready resource enhances the quality of life for people living and working in nursing homes. He regularly presents at national and regional conferences and has written numerous articles and produced podcasts focused on improving quality of care through volunteer engagement.
Dr. Falkowski earned his Doctorate in Gerontology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. His dissertation, Volunteer Programming Impact on Long-Term Care Facilities, is available online and has been downloaded more than 6,000 times. He currently teaches online gerontology courses for the University of Nebraska and other institutions.
Trained volunteers are a valuable asset to both the people who live and work in long-term care communities. Dr. Falkowski can create interactive training programs from the ground up or evaluate existing programs and offer improvement strategies. He is also available to serve as a keynote speaker or to lead workshops for professional care staff.
