Diana Gialo is an editor, journalist and writer. A graduate of the University of Delaware, with a degree in English Literature and Italian language, her writing endeavors have spanned across countries and careers. She has lived and studied in Italy where she contributed to an Italian newspaper for English-speaking ex-pats. As one of the youngest stringers for formerly MSNBC.com, she contributed travel content, covering topics ranging from heli-skiing and hiking to destination marathons. Gialo got her start in book publishing, working in the editorial department for publisher Wiley, before taking on marketing positions at large technology and financial services firms. She currently serves as a marketing leader for Ernst & Young LLP. All the while, writing remains her most beloved pastime. Gialo's first short story was written at age seven, called How the Hyena Got His Laugh. Her love of animals and storytelling still rings true over two decades later with her debut children's book, A Pig Named Maple. Gialo is a devoted vegetarian and activist for animal rights. Gialo resides in South Carolina with her family, including furry four-legged Schnauzer, Roscoe.
