Author Info

This first time author was born to an unwed mother in 1936. She recounts her experience of being illegitimate in a "legitimate" world. This was only one of her numerous challenges and struggles.

The Word of God has taken her from pain to promise. An interesting excerpt from the book is "He had no idea that the nurse taking his blood pressure was his own daughter!"

It is with transparency and honesty, sprinkled with humor, that she relates her faith journey which brought her into a personal relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Of 7 traceable generations in her family, she's the "hinge" that connects the ancestors of 1854 to their descendants of 2021. She finds herself with a foot in 2 very different worlds and eras. The reader will meet all of them on the pages of "Defining Moments".

A preview of the book can be found on patamiller.com as well as a slide show of the 7 generations and the incredible people God has put in her life.

She was married to Frank C. Miller for 57 years until his death in 2014. She has 3 daughters, 7 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.

She was a nurse for 36 years until she changed careers. At age 58 she graduated from The Athenaeum of Ohio and became Pastoral Associate at St. Ann's parish in Hamilton, Ohio until her retirement in 2005.

She is co-founder of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Butler County, Ohio and a 16 year cancer survivor.

Her motto is "You're never too old to have a dream or a "first" in your life"!
