Darcy J MacPherson is an avid horticulturist and nature consultant passionate about plants and what they can do for us spiritually, emotionally and physically. Darcy loves to explore the history and myths of gardens and plants. Why are they important to people, what activities makes them special, and how the smallest place can be the most sacred of places?

An ongoing student of myths, horticultural and environmental studies, she weaves her talents as a consultant in creating sacred and healing spaces. Darcy uses the philosophy that “gardens weave through the fabrics of our lives, constantly teaching us about them and ourselves”. As gardens evolve and change so do their caretakers.
With a strong tie to the land and nature through her farming experience, Scottish roots and outdoor activities. Darcy is a fan of the green world and its natural uses. A lifelong interest in ancient history contributes to the interest in exploring the history and myths of gardens, plants and sacred spaces.

Her journey today consists of owning a business called Silver Thread Gardens where she partners with clients to restore and create sacred spaces. Through this she weaves technical and practical expertise and mythology into her clients’ personal spaces. She enjoys collaborating with others to bring forth the value of nature to their world. Writing the myths of plants for clients, reviewing the sacredness of their space and consulting on overall garden management.

Darcy has recently completed her advance ReNature Feng Shui Certification, furthering her techniques of incorporating nature and the Five Elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water) into one’s environment. She develop and understand the dynamics of the urban canopy and urban forest management. She is engaged in the promotion of tree stewardship and the overall health of the planet.

A previous Information Technology Architect holding two master’s degrees in Information & Knowledge Management. Darcy now puts those skills into disseminating plant lore, rekindling the next generation and promoting every garden’s magical potential.

She has worked over 8 years for several full-scale nurseries and private gardens. A native plants enthusiast.
