Courtney Anixter is a freelance writer and Chicago native. Okay, fine. She grew up in the suburbs but considers herself a bona fide city gal now. She graduated from Indiana University in 2005. Go Hoosiers! (Not really. She never attended one basketball game—shh, don't tell anyone.) Courtney fancied it up with her Master of Arts from NYU in 2006. After ten years in the corporate world, she decided to channel her creative side and launched her own speechwriting company, Consult Courtney, in 2015. (Follow her on Insta. She'll appreciate it.) She serves as a ghostwriter composing various speeches for weddings, fundraisers, and/or website content. Her published works are featured on Scary Mommy, Thought Catalog, YourTango, The Daily Positive, Harness Magazine, Unwritten, and The Undeniable Life. #humblebrag. She also has a few notable accolades—"Double Chai in the Chi: 36 Under 36" recipient and the "King David Award" presented at the Capitol building in Washington, D.C. (NBD). Courtney loves pop culture, everything Jennifer Aniston, and laughing all day every day. (Warning: her loud, boisterous cackle can be heard round the world.)
