Cathy Parker is the author of the speculative fiction trilogy Power Rising, which begins with the story of a zoo volunteer who sets out to free a beluga from captivity, but also must find a way to send an alien child home and defeat the extraterrestrials determined not only to capture the child but to destroy Earth in the process—all while racing against time as she falls more and more dangerously ill. Adventures ensue in the trilogy. Cathy has recently returned from three years in Costa Rica, where she lived in a small town located on the beaches of the Pacific Ocean and she now lives in Tacoma, Washington with her cat, which she describes as “a little hellion.”
