The author of "Journey to Eudaimonia" is Frederick (Fred) Rovner. Fred was born in New Mexico in 1947. He is the son of World War II veterans and grew up in the Southwestern United States. He is a former infantry officer and veteran of the Vietnam War. His first undergraduate degree is in Classical History and Philosophy but has practiced emergency medicine for the last 25 years. His background as a soldier, teacher, and medical provider have provided Fred with a wealth of experience and knowledge which serves as a foundation for story telling. Fred lives near Atlanta with his college sweetheart, Thyra. They enjoy travel, each others company, and family outings. They have an adult daughter, two grand children, two cats, and several vintage cars.

The follow on book "Juno Moneta" (Working Title) is about 30% written. The grandson of Martialis, Marcus, joins the Scipionic circle and joins with Scipio Aemilianus in the wars and intrigues of the last half of the second century BCE Roman Republic. The story covers the Third Punic War then the intrigues and conflicts in Rome and elsewhere in the empire through the Social War. I hope to tell this story in a way that makes these amazing events accessible to a modern audience. This is a daunting project but I hope to complete this by this coming Autumn.
