Judy Bordeaux, born in Tonasket, Washington in 1948, was a graduate of Whitman College and was a storyteller and school librarian. The granddaughter of immigrants to the Pacific Northwest who faced internment during World War II, she was a staunch advocate of fair and sensitive treatment of new immigrants and the less-privileged. She faced personal challenges - her husband's accident and disability, and raising two children as a single parent - with courage. Judy died in 2018 after completing this memoir; friends and family have published it in 2019.
