ABOUT THE
AUTHOR
Born in the mid
30’s in the North of England, just before WWII, and left school with a
Secondary Modern Education at age 15, to work in our family’s home-based scale
model building business. Grew up in
Salford with my older sister and brother, loved model building for as long as I
can remember, and have a passion for WWII aircraft and British steam trains.
Worked for
Bassett-Lowke Model Engineers in Manchester and London before serving 3 years
with the Royal Air Force. Immigrated to
Canada with my family in the late 60’s and re-establishing the Brinkworth Model
building business, building Architectural, Engineering, and Marine models here
in Vancouver BC.
Early 90’s we established
a firm connection in the world of motor-racing, and for the next 26 years, we
were almost fully committed to the custom building of hand built Limited-Edition
Presentation models for the racing team Owners, Drivers and Sponsors.
Now in 2020, very
happily retired in Langley, British Columbia, Canada with my wife Elza, and two
sons, Barry and Bill. Still building
models, but mostly for my own personal pleasure.
