'Study the past if you would define the future...'

History has always been a passion of mine and throughout my educational years I had the best and most passionate of teachers to whom I am forever indebted.

I was fortunate to survive WWII in Britain and then to live in Switzerland and attend a local Catholic School where I became fluent in French before I was enrolled in the first International School in the world, in Geneva where classes were taught in both English and French.

At the age of ten, I was sent to a boarding school in Brighton, Sussex before I returned to finish my education at the International School.

Thence I journeyed to London, to study History with Latin and French minors at Royal Holloway College in Egham, where Runnymede is located and the college is built on the design of Chambord.

I have been living in the U.S.A. since 1965 and first worked in the Foreign Languages Department at the University of Maryland, before being moved to the College of General Education.

I have not only co-owned two businesses but have also pursued the second love of my life, sports... namely soccer, tennis, swimming, rugby, lacrosse and cricket... now it's bowling and pickle ball and I continue to volunteer also.

I have two amazing sons and one daughter, as well as two flourishing grand children, Max and Lucy.

I am married to John Burt, a retired USAF Colonel and together we have traveled to many places, another passion of mine/ours, though the years have slowed us down a little.
