Adrian Vaughan-Scott is a social studies teacher in New York City with more than twenty years' experience teaching primarily US History. He holds two master's degrees in education with a focus on history and educational leadership, built upon a lifetime of antiracist activism and dues paid as an underground emcee. Born in Seattle, WA, Adrian has called three major American cities home—Seattle, Detroit, and old Brooklyn. Hailing from a split family ruptured by alcoholism, he was lucky enough to experience two different worlds growing up, urban and suburban. Adrian's writing is a natural continuation of his teaching, his activism, and his own history.
